Silven P. Zimmerman has become Pasadena’s 15th postmaster following a tradition dating back to when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

In his 24th year as a Postal employee, Zimmerman was installed as the Postmaster of the Pasadena Post Office at a ceremony at the Plaza Pasadena Post Office location at 281 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena.
Zimmerman began his postal career in 2000 as a city carrier in Tampa, FL. Over the course of his career, he served on several detail assignments including several years as a Driving Safety Instructor, and a trainer in Learning and Development. In 2015 Zimmerman stepped into the role of management as Station Supervisor in Tampa, FL. He went on to serve additional assignments as a Financial Specialist and as a member of the Gulf Atlantic Hurricane Relief Team.
His most recent role was as the Postmaster of Alhambra Post Office.
Zimmerman is a father of three daughters, Ashley, Emma, and Jillian, and grandfather of three granddaughters, Eloise, Jaylen, and Harper. He enjoys reading, cooking and spending time outdoors.
Zimmerman has been a volunteer at St. Jude’s Hospital, Metropolitan Ministry and a member of Krewe of Saint Yago in Tampa.
As Pasadena’s Postmaster, Zimmerman will manage all operations with a total of 129 city routes, delivering to 78,436 addresses and 3,642 Post Office boxes.
