Celeste Sharp is the 2023 valedictorian of John Muir Early College Magnet.  She earned an outstanding GPA of 4.34 to place first in her graduating class.

      By News Desk

In addition to her stellar academics, Celeste was a key member of Muir’s aquatics program, serving as the varsity swim team captain from 9th to 12th grade and being a member of the varsity water polo team during all four years as well. She also coached local youth water polo from the Spring of 2022 to the present.

Celeste was active in student affairs.  She participated in the school’s Associated Student Body (ASB) leadership in 11th and 12th grade, serving as the ASB Treasurer her senior year.

She was a student in Muir’s Environmental Science and Engineering Academy (ESEA) from 9th to 12th grade and also participated in the school’s Puente Program during those same years.

Celeste had an opportunity to do work experience in the 301 Organics Green Jobs Training Program in the Summer of 2022 and as a Muir Garden Student Worker from the Winter of 2022 to the present.

Celeste will be attending UC Santa Cruz to major in Agroecology (sustainable agriculture).

Congratulations to Celeste, a hard worker who was always first to get in pool at swim practice, success is a habit , she is a really good person with a good sense of humor, and not a nerd, maybe a bit of one. Look forward to seeing what she does.

Kids like her, Principal Gray, the Muir parents & Muir community is why all people in Pasadena should visit and get involved with our public schools.
