Katlyn Ong is the valedictorian for Blair High School graduating class of 2023, and will be attending University of the Pacific in the fall to study Pre-Dentistry.

Ong is a recipient of several scholarships, including the University of the Pacific Regents’ Scholarship, and several Blair-awarded scholarships.
Katlyn is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Candidate, an Occupational Skills Certificate holder for Basic and Intermediate Competency in Chinese at Pasadena City College, a Golden State Seal Merit Diploma recipient and a California Seal of Biliteracy recipient in Spanish. She has been a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) since 10th grade and in her junior year was the NHS Secretary at Blair.
Katlyn started at Willard Elementary, and continued through Blair Middle and Blair High school.
It’s amazing how much a teenager in the PUSD can fit into a busy schedule.
- Ong was a Blair Associated Student Body (ASB) member and officer since 8th grade and the President in her senior year.
- She was on the swim and water polo teams all four years of high school.
- She was a volunteer in the Tzu Chi Youth Association from grades 10.
- She played clarinet in Blair’s jazz band in grades 7-12.
