Jonathan Ong is the valedictorian for the Pasadena Unified School District Blair High School graduating class of 2022, and will be attending USC in the fall to study computer science.

Ong is a recipient of two scholarships: USC Trustee Scholarship and the Joyce Davis Memorial Scholarship.
His impressive list of accomplishments includes being an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Candidate. He has been a member of the National Honor Society since 10th grade and in his senior year was the NHS Vice President.
Jonathan had a PUSD IB World School experience starting at Willard Elementary, and he continued through Blair Middle and Blair High school.
It’s amazing how much a teenager in the PUSD can fit into a busy schedule.
- Ong was the Associated Student Body member for all four years of high school and the President in his senior year.
- He was a GSA (Genders and Sexualities Alliance) member since 9th grade and the GSA treasurer from grades 10-12.
- He was on the Swim team and participated in water polo since 9th grade (He was the captain from grades 10-12) and he served as manager of the girl’s water polo team since 9th grade.
- He was a volunteer in the Tzu Chi Youth Association from grades 10-12 with the honor of being president in his senior year.
Jonathan Ong is a College Board AP Scholar with Distinction.

I read in the article Johnny received the USC Trustee scholarship, so I looked up what that is. A FULL Tuition merit scholarship for all 4 years awarded to the top 100 applicants to the school. Wow!! Go Johnny!!!
