Two interesting subjects will be presented on zoom by the Pasadena Senior Center in June.
The Masters Series
The June term of The Masters Series, which embraces lifelong learning, will be virtual via Zoom for people 50 and older Tuesdays, June 8 to 29, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
Dr. Timothy Doran, associate professor of ancient history at Cal State LA, will guide participants through a compelling examination of Egypt beginning in prehistoric times and continuing through the death of Cleopatra in 30 BC.
The cost for the seven-week term is only $50 for members of the center and $60 for nonmembers. Membership at the center and Pasadena residency are not required.

Cosmic Cocktail Hour
For this month’s Cosmic Cocktail Hour Wednesday, June 2, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm via Zoom, JPL robotic hardware systems team member Paulo Younse will share an overview of various prototype robots developed by JPL, how he traveled around the world to test prototype designs in different types of landscapes and environments, how Perseverance is collecting samples from the surface of Mars and how follow-up missions will be planned for bringing samples back to Earth.
Presented by the Pasadena Senior Center, the cost is only $7 for members of the center and $10 for nonmembers 50 and older. Residency in Pasadena is not required.
