“Macbeth” Comes to South Pasadena’s Garfield Park

“When shall we three meet again? In thunder, lightning, or in rain?” asks the First Witch in this famous play as she and her sisters plot mischief in the Scottish hills.

However, the City of South Pasadena’s Community Services Department is likely hoping for clearer weather for the July 18 weekend performances of Macbeth in Garfield Park.

Known as the “Scottish play,” Shakespeare’s epic tale of greed, treachery, kingship, and the supernatural comes to the sunny slopes of South Pasadena’s Garfield Park for two performances in one weekend: Saturday, July 18, 2026, and Sunday, July 19, 2026. Both performances begin at 7:00 pm.

The annual Shakespeare in the Park program, paired with the Concert & Movie Series, helps fill the city’s summer calendar with family-friendly outdoor activities.

Community members are invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy live theater in a relaxed park setting.

Garfield Park is located at 1000 Park Avenue and offers limited free street parking, as well as convenient access to public transportation.
