Pasadena-Based Journalist Lynell George at Allendale Branch Library

Award-winning Pasadena-based journalist and essayist Lynell George will be at the Allendale Branch Library on February 29, 2020, at 2:00 pm.

In celebration of Black History Month, “A Conversation with…” will host a discussion with the former staff writer for the Los Angeles Times and L.A. Weekly, Lynell George. She has focused on social issues, human behavior, and identity politics as well as visual arts, music, and literature.

Following the discussion, Lynell George will sign her latest book, After/Image: Los Angeles Outside the Frame (2018), copies of which will be available for sale through the publisher, Angel City Press. The book is a collection of Lynell’s essays and photographs examining sense-of-place and the ever-evolving identity of the City of Angels.

Attendees will also enjoy a display of Lynell George’s favorite books – both fiction and non-fiction titles – and music CDs that have been culled from the various Pasadena and Glendale Public Libraries. All materials are available for circulation to anyone with a Pasadena or Glendale Public Library card.

Light refreshments will be served.
