Lucky Baldwin’s Pub has permanently closed its East Pasadena location, Trappiste, after 15 years of serving the community.

      By Janine Tedros

The pub, located at 1770 E. Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, officially closed to the public on Aug. 1, 2026. According to owner Peggy Simonian, the closure will make way for a planned 90-unit affordable housing development on the site.

The East Pasadena pub opened in 2010 as the sister location to Lucky Baldwins’ original Old Town Pasadena restaurant and the Lucky Baldwins Delirium pub in Sierra Madre.

In a message to patrons, Simonian thanked the East Pasadena community, longtime customers and staff for their support over the past 15 years.

“We have felt very much part of the community here in East Pasadena, with our regular customers whom we cherish and will dearly miss,” Simonian said. She also thanked the employees who helped make the restaurant a success throughout its years of operation.

Although the East Pasadena location has closed, Lucky Baldwins confirmed that its Old Town Pasadena and Sierra Madre locations will remain open.

The closure comes as Lucky Baldwins celebrates its 30th anniversary. The woman-owned business encouraged customers to visit its remaining locations as it begins its next chapter.

It’s absolutely unbelievable that you would not mention the 2000 sq ft of ground floor commercial space that will be added to the new building.

Such a shame! So many great memories watching big matches there.
