Lineage Live brings three nights of live music, dance, and storytelling to the Lineage Performing Arts Center from September 20th to September 22nd.

The story behind this production began in 1999 when a small group of dancers banded together to create a benefit concert for Young & Healthy, a local Pasadena nonprofit. After experiencing firsthand how dance can bring a community together, dancer Hilary Thomas founded Lineage Dance to expand this impact. Lineage Dance eventually evolved into the Lineage Performing Arts Center, a community based organization dedicated to making the arts accessible to people of all abilities, age, race, socioeconomic status, gender, and sexuality.
25 years later, Lineage continues to reach across barriers to build connection in the local Pasadena community. Lineage Live covers two and a half decades of repertory, highlighting pieces from some of their most popular shows (Healing Blue, Matter of Time, Cabaret) and featuring sneak previews of what is to come this season (RENT!). You’ll hear anecdotes from the Lineage family as they look back on twenty-five years of connecting the community through art. The theater’s lobby will also feature an exhibit of archival materials from throughout Lineage’s history, curated by Theresa Kennedy.
“For 25 years, we’ve been gathering some of the most wonderful and talented humans I’ve ever known and adding them to the family of Lineage artists,” Founder and Artistic Director Hilary Thomas says, “these artists have inspired and shaped our repertoire over the decades, challenging us to constantly create and grow. With a six-piece band and over fifteen dancers and singers, this show is going to be one heck of a celebration!” From Broadway to pop, oldies to original compositions, Lineage Live has it all! Join Lineage on a journey through the decades as they look back on some of the pieces, stories, and people that made the organization what it is today.
The show runs September 20th through September 22nd in Lineage’s intimate 78-seat theater at 920 E Mountain Street, in Pasadena. The show runs 1 hour and 40 minutes with a brief intermission.
