The Los Angeles County Public Works Department has announced plans to construct a temporary bridge to reopen the Lincoln Avenue Bridge over the wash, which is currently closed. This temporary structure will restore local traffic flow while a permanent replacement bridge is in the design phase.

      By News desk

Construction of the temporary bridge is scheduled to take place from August 29 through October 15, 2025. During this time, no parking will be allowed within the construction zone, and crews may be working seven days a week between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, including weekends and holidays, in an effort to expedite the project.

As part of the construction effort, up to four parkway trees adjacent to the Lincoln Avenue Bridge will be removed to accommodate utility relocations. The tree removal is expected to begin late this week or early next week, according to Public Works.

The Lincoln Avenue Bridge will remain closed throughout the construction period. Officials urge residents to plan alternate routes and remain alert to posted signage and work activity in the area.

“We appreciate your patience as we work to construct the temporary bridge and restore traffic on Lincoln Avenue, while ensuring safety for the community,” said Los Angeles County Public Works in a statement.

For questions or more information, residents can contact Giancarlo Sergi at gsergi@pw.lacounty.gov or call (626) 458-2185.
