Join UCLA Professor of Law Emeritus and author Paul Bergman as he shows and discusses entertaining clips from courtroom movies to reveal surprising facts and illustrate how law-related films reflect and influence popular beliefs about law, lawyers, and the legal system.
By News Desk
Real trials and courtroom movies are made for each other – lawyers are storytellers, courtrooms are theaters, and the trial process provides drama, surprise, suspense, or comedy. The clips will be drawn from familiar and not-so-familiar films in Bergman’s book Real to Reel: Truth and Trickery in Courtroom Movies.
The presentation will begin at 7:00 pm. PMH Galleries will be open for viewing at 6:00 pm.
Space is limited; advance reservations required.
