Now in its 32nd year, the Pasadena Senior Games is a flagship event in a nationwide series of Olympic-style competitions for adults aged 50 and older.
This year’s cycling events will feature 5K and 10K Time Trials, along with 20K and 40K Road Races. Notably, Pasadena hosts the only Senior Games in California to include Cycling Road Races, making it a rare opportunity for older competitive cyclists. The closed course at El Dorado Park, free from street traffic and nestled in a lush garden setting, offers both beauty and safety, drawing participants from across the region.
Organized and officiated by SoCal Cyclocross under the direction of Dorothy Wong, the races promise professional-level timing and a spirited atmosphere. Registration is open online through June 12, with race day sign-ups also available. Entry costs include a $45 athlete fee and $20 per event.
True to its mission, the Pasadena Senior Games welcomes both novice and elite athletes, with no pre-qualification required. Competitors vie for medals in five-year age increments, from ages 50–54 up to 90+. The Games foster community, friendship, and even record-breaking performances, all in a supportive and inclusive environment.
The Pasadena Senior Games are organized by the Pasadena Senior Center. For more information or to register, visit pasadenaseniorcenter.org/activities-events/senior-games or call 626-685-6755.
