LA Arboretum Library Launches Photography Exhibit for America’s 250th Birthday

Wildlife and fauna join the list of national treasures to celebrate, thanks to the Los Angeles Arboretum Library and America’s 250th Birthday Photography Exhibit.

Organizers invite the public to submit original photographs for consideration in a specially curated display celebrating naturally occurring beauty.

Each entrant may submit one photo per person in one or more of the following categories: Native Tree, Native Plant, Native Flower, and/or Native Bird found in the United States.

Photos must be free of people and text and no larger than 8 by 10 inches. Images should be printed and submitted with a mat border frame, and must include the typed name of the photographer, subject, and location.

If an image is selected, a signed release form will be required before it can be exhibited.

The library maintains a comprehensive collection of resources on gardening, botany, California native plant life, environmental issues, and agriculture, particularly as these subjects relate to plants native to and grown in Southern California. Holdings include books, e-books, magazines, government documents, pamphlets, and audiovisual materials.
