L.A. County Arboretum: See What’s in Bloom, Grab a Funnel Cake or Cocktail While You’re There!

On a recent socially-distant outing to the LA County Arboretum, I was pleasantly surprised to find more facilities open, along with a few extras.

Since the start of the pandemic, the LA County Arboretum has been consistently open and continues to provide a great meditative getaway from it all. The only day that the Arboretum is closed is on Christmas Day.

The gift shop and outdoor cafe have recently re-opened and an outdoor pop-up bar plus funnel cake stand have been set up near the café.  You can enjoy the 127 acres of nature and chill with the peacocks and cocktail, or burn those pesky calories from the $9 funnel cake as you take a brisk walk past the various eco-scapes.

According to the Arboretum’s website, “Beginning Monday, March 15, visiting hours are from 9am to 7pm daily with last entry at 6:30pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance online.  All visitors, except children under 2, are required to wear face coverings at all times and observe safe distancing of 6 feet. Thank you for following all safety precautions.” Admission prices are here: (arboretum.org/visit/hours-and-admission).  Visitors might also consider becoming annual members, which is a tax write off, and members can enter the gardens early from 7:30 to 9:00 am.

It’s always a great time to visit the Arboretum because there are always new colors and blooms, but now with springtime officially around the corner, it’s an even better time to visit and support your local public garden.

Love the Arboretum. My daughters took a weekly gardening class there when they were pre-kindergarten.
