Along with Campout, the museum will open its newest permanent exhibit, Arroyo Pequeño, an extension of the Arroyo Adventure that delves into the delicate ecosystem of the Arroyo Seco. Guests are invited to play in cool pools of water and observe the signs of native wildlife that inhabit the local area.
“Summer is the perfect time for family and friends to come together to enjoy longer, slower days, explore the outdoors, and gather around picnic blankets and campfires,” said Kidspace CEO Lisa Clements. “Kidspace Campout is an imaginative celebration of traditional pastimes like summer camp, road trips, and water play, that make treasured memories and connect us to nature and to the people we care about most.”
“While the Arroyo Stream encourages adventurous exploration, splashing, and large-motor physical play, the addition of Arroyo Pequeño invites children to slow down and engage with the water in new ways,” said Clements. “This space opens up a new world of play in an immersive natural environment.”
In addition to the special Kidspace Campout events and activities, families can enjoy spinning on the Los Trompos exhibit, building roadways at Ramps & Rollers, and getting hands-on with science in our Physics Forest.
Guests can visit kidspacemuseum.org to reserve general admission tickets for Kidspace Campout or sign up for a Family Membership.
