Attention history buffs, Pasadena Museum of History will inaugurate an experience for your children in the year 1910 on Pasadena’s famed “Millionaire’s Row.”
By Wafic Khalil
Growing Up on Millionaire’s Row is promising to be an exciting interactive tour experience exclusively designed for young visitors along with their adult companions.
Brad Macneil, Pasadena Museum of History’s education director, explains:
This is the first public tour of Fenyes Mansion interpreted especially for youth. It was developed based on our extensive experiences with students who visit the Museum during class field trips to participate in Pasadena Museum of History’s award-winning ‘Junior Docents’ and ‘My Masterpieces’ programs.
Youngsters will meet the family that lived in the historic 1906 Beaux Arts-style mansion and explore their lifestyle – dress, technology, manners, and play.
Highlights
Tour highlights will include:
- Hearing music played on a Victor Victrola
- Viewing 3-D images through a stereoscope
- Learning about candlestick telephones and ice boxes.
Your young time-travelers will also view the charming three-story dollhouse, discover the mysteries of a hair receiver, and make the acquaintance of Dom Pedro de Jura Juba!
