A new chapter in health care accessibility has arrived in Pasadena with the opening of Keck Medicine of USC’s most advanced outpatient location.

      By News Desk

Keck Medicine of USC has opened a new outpatient facility at 590 S. Fair Oaks Ave. The four-story, 100,000-square-foot building is designed to provide medical services and specialized care to residents of Pasadena and the greater San Gabriel Valley.

The new location expands Keck Medicine’s presence in the area and is part of a broader initiative by USC to increase access to healthcare services across Southern California.

“This expansion in Pasadena allows Keck Medicine to better serve our community and promote health,” said Beong-Soo Kim, interim president of USC.

      Sustainable Design and Location

The facility features an open design with large windows offering views of the San Gabriel Mountains. It incorporates sustainable materials and energy-efficient elements, achieving LEED Platinum certification, a designation recognizing environmental sustainability. This is the second USC-built facility to receive such certification.
Located in Pasadena’s biotech and biomedical corridor, the expansion is expected to support the local economy.

      Specialized Services and Clinical Training

The facility offers a wide range of specialized care across more than 15 clinical specialties. Some of the services available include:

      • Cancer Care: Provided by USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, including radiation and surgical oncology.
      • Heart Care: Including cardiology, vascular surgery, and diagnostics.
      • Orthopaedic Surgery: Musculoskeletal and spine care.
      • Autoimmune and Rheumatology Care: Treatments for conditions such as multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease, and autoimmune liver disease.

In addition to clinical services, the facility will provide diagnostic services, lab work, imaging, palliative care, and ambulatory surgery. The center will also support USC’s medical school by offering clinical training for students, residents, and fellows.

The Pasadena location complements an existing 18,000-square-foot facility at 625 S. Fair Oaks Ave., which focuses on memory and brain health, bariatric medicine, and primary care services. Keck Hospital of USC, which includes the new Pasadena facility, was recently recognized as a Vizient 2025 Top Performer in healthcare excellence, one of only 12 academic medical centers in the country to receive this distinction.

      Grand Opening

Keck Medicine of USC celebrated the grand opening of its new medical office building in Pasadena on Friday, October 3, 2025. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by USC supporters, interim USC President Beong-Soo Kim, and Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo.
