Kaysa Moreno announced her campaign for Alhambra Unified School District Board of Education, District 3.

In an email to ColoradoBoulevard.net, Moreno said:
We are facing unprecedented times, but we must keep working towards a future that prioritizes the needs of our community. I am committed to being an accessible leader to families, teachers, and staff by creating transparency with district programs, policies, and procedures in our schools and ensuring that our students are given the resources they need to succeed.

Moreno currently teaches at El Camino Community College as a math professor, serves her local PTA, and is very active in the community. She and her husband Joshua, also an educator, are longtime residents of the City of Alhambra and parents to three children raised within the Alhambra Unified School District.
A daughter of immigrants, Moreno was raised by a single mother from El Salvador who supported her family by cleaning houses. Her mother pushed her to focus on her education so that she could achieve her dreams. As a result, she was the first in her family to graduate from college.
Moreno is currently a Traffic Commissioner for the City of Alhambra. School District elections are held at-large and will take place on Tuesday, November 3rd.
