On November 19, 2025, JPL will celebrate this legacy of exploration with the next Watson Lecture, an evening dedicated to the spirit of discovery. The lecture, which will take place at Caltech’s Beckman Auditorium from 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm., will feature Dr. Ashwin Vasavada, a Caltech alumnus and the project scientist for NASA’s Mars Science Laboratory.
Dr. Vasavada will discuss the remarkable findings of the Curiosity rover, which has spent 13 years exploring Mars. His talk, titled “What 13 Years with the Curiosity Rover Have Revealed About Mars’s Past”, will delve into the rover’s discoveries and how they have reshaped our understanding of the Red Planet’s history and its potential for past life.
Pre-Lecture Activities: Enjoy food, drinks, and books available for purchase from 6:00 pm, followed by a Q&A session with Dr. Vasavada at 7:30 pm. Post-Lecture: Join fellow attendees for refreshments and conversation after the talk.
