Entrepreneur and local magazine publisher Jason Hardin has filed paperwork to run for mayor in the upcoming 2020 election.
Hardin’s Candidate Intention Statement was filed on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 10:16 am. Jacque Robinson filed her statement September 30, and Victor Gordo filed on October 3. Both Robinson’s and Gordo’s filings were posted by the City Clerk’s office the day of the filing. Hardin’s statement was posted the morning of Monday, October 28, 2019. It is not clear why the Pasadena Clerk’s Office waited more than a month to post Hardin’s Candidate Intention Statement. ColoradoBoulevard.net contacted the City Clerk’s office and we will keep you posted with an answer.
In a statement to ColoradoBoulevard.net, Hardin said:
I want my campaign for mayor to empower my fellow residents by helping them understand that to better our community, their participation in local government is not optional. We cannot afford to leave the leadership of our city in the hands of affluent individuals that remain unaffected by the decisions they make.
The domain name for Hardin’s candidacy, hardinformayor.com, was registered two days ago, on October 26, 2019. Jason Hardin, a former candidate in the 2015 Pasadena Mayoral election, is the owner of The DENA Magazine. He recently produced a documentary with childhood friends to tackle gang violence.
So far, four candidates, Major Williams, Jason Hardin, Jacque Robinson and Victor Gordo, have filed statements to challenge the incumbent, Terry Tornek.
