Being a community based magazine, we set out to highlight environmental and social issues, organic living, and the arts, quality art, in our communities. We are picky with what we feature on our online magazine pages and the same standards are applied to our print edition. As our tagline says, our articles are the antidote to ‘cutting and pasting,’ a problem that plagues “news” these days. Our articles are solely based on the merit of the event and/or newsworthiness.
ColoradoBoulevard.net Print Edition will be published monthly, on the 2nd week of each month, covering the Greater Pasadena area (South Pasadena, San Marino, Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre). We are a grass root movement (opposite to the trend of hedge fund companies gobbling print newspapers, laying off their staff and practicing “cutting and pasting”). And if you choose to subscribe or advertise, rest assured you are helping true local journalism thrive and a local institution. Your money will go to help sustain the future of our community based newspaper.
Our monthly print Edition will be different from our online daily edition. Each will have differing content, sharing as the need arises. It’s about time we clean out local journalism from imposters and big money interests and make print hip again.

One night upon checking our online readership, we noticed an unusual spike coming from KPPC’s website. Upon further investigation, we found it was coming from an article titled “Why Southern California’s Newspapers Are Having Such a Tough Time Right Now.” Toward the end of the article, USC Journalism professor and former editor of the Los Angeles Times, Michael Parks, was asked where he gets his news. Aside from the three daily papers (L.A. Times, New York Times and Wall Street Journal) he receives, he reads international newspapers’ websites for foreign news and turns to “indie websites like AlhambraSource.org and ColoradoBlvd.net [to] fill in the gaps in local coverage.” I would’ve liked the article to spell our name in full (ColoradoBoulevard.net), but it’s good enough.

P.S. I think (and don’t quote me on it) our newspaper may be the first newspaper in the country, possibly the world, with a URL as a name.
