I just learned of the passing of the incredible, and always loving Marty Coleman.

Gems like Marty are encountered only once in a great while. To know her was a total experience. She taught me the power of one, how it’s never too late to start over, and that there’s an endless amount of work to be done – “so we better get cracking.”
Marty shared herself and all she had with others.
Her yard transformed into a school garden for the school next door, her house a place for community gatherings. She walked her neighborhood with a stack of flyers in hand – her steadfastness was contagious, her organizing organic.
With all this said, and with an insurmountable amount of gratefulness in my heart, all I really have to say is, Marty, I love you so much. Thank you for sharing your stories and lessons with me and others. I will never forget our discussions and will be eternally grateful for finding you and embracing you for the gem that you are. My life is richer because of you and I will dearly miss you. I know you’re already shaking things up where you are – and boy, are they lucky to have you! We promise to do our best to make you proud.
