Claire Everett
when the work is done
day lilies crushed
in ice cream . . .
the taste of summer
on your skin
Claire Everett lives in North Yorkshire, England and is the founder and editor of Skylark tanka journal. As she and her husband love their tandem bicycle, her ice cream of choice would simply be one that’s made for two.

“definitely,
ice-cream has its place
in the food pyramid”
my nephew and I
agree on some things
Johannes S. H. Bjerg a Dane who writes “The love of ice-cream runs in my mother’s side of the family much to my doctor’s dismay”.

Tomislav Maretic
sultry evening…
the ice creams lazily
walking
in opposite directions
of the main city street
Tomislav Maretic lives and works as a medical doctor in Zagreb, Croatia. He points out that ice cream is a “kigo” (season word) for Summer, and it is a little consolation for people staying (and working) in the city during sultry summer days and nights.
