Hyatt Place Pasadena helped make the start of the school year brighter for three local students during Pasadena’s 30th annual National Night Out celebration at Jefferson Park.

As part of the event, the hotel hosted an art competition open to children, with 15 students participating for the chance to win backpacks filled with school supplies. Hyatt Place guests voted to select three winners, and each student received a backpack stocked with essentials for the new school year.
To continue the celebration, Hyatt Place invited members of the Pasadena Police Department to help present the prizes. On August 15, Officers Marko Mendoza and Jose Barraza joined hotel staff in congratulating the winners and distributing their backpacks.
The Pasadena Police Department thanks Hyatt Place Pasadena for its generosity and for extending the spirit of National Night Out beyond the event itself. This partnership highlights what is possible when local businesses, community organizations, and residents come together to support Pasadena’s children and families.
