Huntington Hospital is experiencing a severe blood shortage and needs your help!

With the only trauma center in the San Gabriel Valley, Huntington Hospital relies on the community’s generosity to help keep a full supply of blood. The hospital has set up a blood donor center at 800 S. Fairmount Ave. (cross street is Bellefontaine) by appointment only, so they can schedule and spread out the donors.
The hospital reached out to the community with the following message:

Location and hours
Huntington Hospital has moved our community Blood Donor Center to 800 S. Fairmount Avenue, Pasadena, CA, 91105. Blood donation hours are Monday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday – 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. To schedule a donation, please call (626) 397-5422.
Special incentive
From March 23 – April 30, 2020 all community blood donors will receive 2 movie tickets or a $20 gift card (while supplies last).
COVID-19 is not transmissible by blood transfusion
Even during COVID-19, blood donation is still a safe practice. There is no evidence that this coronavirus is transmissible by blood transfusion, and there have been no reported cases of transfusion transmission for any respiratory virus, including COVID-19.
In addition, please note that at each blood drive and our Blood Donor Center, Huntington Hospital’s employees follow thorough safety protocols to ensure blood recipient safety, as well as staff and donor safety.
However…
Out of an abundance of caution, please note, that if you have traveled to: China (including Hong Kong and Macau), South Korea, Japan, Italy, or Iran in the last 28 days, please do not donate blood at this time. You will be eligible to donate 28 days after your departure from any of these countries.
