The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors today unanimously approved a motion by Supervisor Kathryn Barger to officially name the Hollywood Bowl Artist Pavilion the “Terri and Jerry Kohl Artists Pavilion”, recognizing a transformative $15 million philanthropic contribution by Terri and Jerry Kohl to the iconic venue.

“Terri and Jerry Kohl have extended their extraordinary generosity to support one of Los Angeles County’s most iconic performance venues,” said Supervisor Barger. “The Kohls’ support makes it possible to preserve and elevate the Hollywood Bowl as a world-class venue while also helping it remain a welcoming public space for all during financially tough times. This pavilion will carry their legacy for generations.”
The pavilion, set to open in June 2026, will serve not only as a performance space but also as a community hub. According to Supervisor Barger’s motion, the Terri and Jerry Kohl Artists Pavilion will be available for free community gatherings and events coordinated through the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, ensuring that local residents can benefit from the facility year-round, not just on concert nights.
The Board’s motion also instructs the Parks and Recreation Department to work with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association to provide appropriate signage and commemorative materials marking the pavilion’s new designation.
At the groundbreaking ceremony in October 2025, Supervisor Barger joined Terri and Jerry Kohl and leaders from the LA Phil and County Parks Department to celebrate the upcoming pavilion, highlighting its dual role as a world-class performance venue and a valuable community asset.
