With the first day of school just around the corner, students and families across the San Gabriel Valley are preparing for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

Juniors and seniors have returned to most schools for the first of two registration days. During registration, high school students can pick up course requests and textbooks, take student ID photos, and make ASB purchases.
In South Pasadena, final schedules and teacher assignments for all grade levels will be available through the Aeries portal after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11.
The 2026-2027 school year begins Wednesday, August 12, for all South Pasadena students. Other nearby districts will begin classes on the following dates:
- Monrovia Unified: Wednesday, August 12
- San Marino Unified: Wednesday, August 12
- Alhambra Unified: Thursday, August 13
- Pasadena Unified: Monday, August 17
- San Gabriel Unified: Tuesday, August 18
- Arcadia Unified: Wednesday, August 19
