A Heat Advisory is in effect for the Greater Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley area from 10:00 am Sunday, August 23, through 10:00 am Tuesday, August 25. An Extreme Heat Watch is also in effect from 10:00 am Tuesday, August 25, through 8:00 pm Friday, August 28.

The extended forecast calls for several days of dangerous heat, with daytime temperatures reaching or exceeding 100 degrees.
Monday will be sunny and hot, with a high near 103 degrees and a low around 67 degrees Monday night. Winds will be calm before becoming southwest at around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Tuesday will again be sunny and hot, with a high near 104 degrees and a low around 68 degrees. Wednesday is expected to reach another high near 104 degrees, followed by a low around 72 degrees Wednesday night.
The heat will continue Thursday, with a high near 102 degrees and a low around 73 degrees. Friday will remain mostly sunny and hot, with a high near 101 degrees and a low around 71 degrees.
Saturday is forecast to remain sunny and hot, with a high near 100 degrees.
The National Weather Service advisories highlight a prolonged period of extreme heat across the area, with temperatures expected to remain around or above 100 degrees through the weekend.
