Pasadena Councilmember Tyron Hampton has been elected president of the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority (BGPAA), beginning a one-year term on July 20, 2026.

The BGPAA, a joint powers agency formed by Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena, owns and operates Hollywood Burbank Airport. The Authority is led by a nine-member Commission, with each city appointing three commissioners.
Hampton joined the Airport Authority in 2021 and has served on the Pasadena City Council for 11 years, including a term as Vice Mayor.
He will lead the Commission alongside Vice President Glendale Commissioner Frank Quintero, Secretary Burbank Commissioner Robert “Bud” Ovrom, Treasurer Burbank Commissioner Jess Talamantes, and Auditor Glendale Commissioner Elen Asatryan.
In a July 24 newsletter, Hampton highlighted the upcoming opening of the Elevate BUR passenger terminal, scheduled for October 5, 2026. The new terminal represents an investment of more than $1 billion and is designed with sustainability goals, including an expected LEED Gold certification.
Hampton encouraged travelers to consider Hollywood Burbank Airport, calling it a top regional airport for customer service and convenience.
