      Dark for the rest of the year, then exploding with Stephen Sondheim mania in 2023 – “Sunday in the Park with George” followed by “A Little Night Music” on the mainstage. Then a special starring Bernadette Peters, then more Sondheim: Larry Owens’ “Sondheimia,” Eleri Ward’s “Acoustic Sondheim,” “Sondheim Unscripted” at the Carrie Hamilton Theater on the Playhouse premises (good to hear that it’s open again), and “Song by Song by Sondheim” celebration concert series.       The annual tradition of various takes on “A Christmas Carol” are again beckoning us on numerous dates in December.  PLEASE NOTE: On 12/10 @ 11:00 am. there is a highly-recommended “Sensory-friendly, ‘relaxed’ performance” of “A Christmas Carol” for audiences with autism, PTSD, Alzheimers, and other sensory challenges. Please spread the word on this opportunity for sensory challenged individuals to enjoy this performance. Also, ANW is showcasing the “Latina Christmas Special” on 12/13 and 12/14.

      “Patsy Cline Holiday Concert” with Cori Cable Kidder – warm your heart and soul with Cori’s powerful rendering of Patsy Cline’s holiday vocals through 12/23. Also consider “Stories at the Playhouse: Wings” on 12/5. Starting in January, be sure to attend the series of shows relating to Billie Holiday, Mickey Rooney, Elizabeth Taylor, and Princess Diana.       “Queerwise; Authoring Their Own Narratives,” to remember a decade of AIDS, on 12/1 – A Los Angeles-based group of writer-performers, QueerWise combines history, humor, and candor to explore the shifting cultural realities of being queer in Twenty-First Century America. Celebrating their ten-year anniversary in 2022, one of their annual signature pieces has been a performance piece honoring World AIDS Day.
