The Rotary Club of Altadena, in partnership with Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, will launch the 26th season of FREE Concerts in the Park at the beautiful outdoor Amphitheater in Farnsworth Park in Altadena.

      By Doug Colliflower

All summer concerts are on Saturday evening and start at 7:00 pm.

This year’s season kicks off on July 8th featuring 4 Lads from Liverpool, a favorite Beatles tribute band. The July 15th concert will be Aileen Quinn and the Leapin’ Lizards with rockabilly and swing. On July 22nd enjoy Mighty Love for soul, RnB, funk and dance hits. On July 29th Love Dolly will pay tribute to Dolly Parton. On August 5th Strange Days: A Tribute to The Doors will pay tribute to Jim Morrison and The Doors. On August 12th Upstream returns to our stage once again as everyone’s favorite Steel Drum Reggae and Soca Band. As it is every year this concert will have a jammed packed audience! On August 19th the Las Chikas band will feature salsa and Latin music. On August 26th Gerry Rothschild Band will provide the perfect blend of “chill” and “get on up.”

The Grand Finale of the 26th Summer Concert Series will be on September 9th featuring The Who Experience a The Who tribute band that celebrates one of the most influential bands of the ‘60s and ‘70s. This concert is produced by the Sheriff’s Support Group of Altadena.

El Patron Mexican Food Restaurant will be cooking and selling food at the top of the Amphitheater, and The Rotary Club of Altadena will be selling beer and wine from the ground floor of the Davies Building throughout the entire Summer Concert Series.

The Summer Concert Series is sponsored by The Rotary Club of Altadena, MonteCedro Senior Living, and the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation. Additional sponsors include Supervisor Kathryn Barger, Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts, Farnsworth Park, Altadena Library, Altadena Hardware, Craig and Susan Cox, J. C. L. Productions, and Zoeller and Associates. Additional information can be found at www.altadenarotary.org.

Doug Colliflower is the President of the Rotary Club of Altadena.
