Community members are invited to give new life to clothing and household items at a sustainability-focused event on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Grandview Library in Glendale.

      By News Desk

The event, held at Grandview Library, 1535 5th St., Glendale, CA 91201, will feature two activities aimed at reducing waste and encouraging reuse.

From 10:00 am to 11:00 am, participants can take part in a clothing swap. Attendees may bring up to five clean, gently used clothing items to exchange with others. All items must be free of stains or tears. Jewelry, shoes, accessories, swimsuits, and underwear will not be accepted. Clothing can be dropped off at the library on Friday, April 17, or during the swap until 11:00 am.

Following the swap, a Repair Café event will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Skilled volunteers will be available to help fix broken items such as torn jeans, dull knives, and broken clocks. Participants may bring up to two items in clean condition and must include all necessary parts. Repairs are not guaranteed, and replacement parts will not be provided. Organizers note that items may not be accepted after 1:00 p.m., depending on capacity.

The event is part of Glendale’s efforts to promote creative reuse and sustainability in the community.

For more information about repair limitations or volunteering opportunities, visit GlendaleCA.gov/CreativeReuse. Questions can also be directed to Sustainability@GlendaleCA.gov or by calling (818) 548-3320.
