The Monterey Park Fire Department, in partnership with the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency, will host a free Sidewalk CPR training event from 9:00 am to noon on the front lawn of Monterey Park City Hall.
Held in recognition of National CPR and AED Awareness Week, the hands-on educational event will teach residents lifesaving CPR skills and how to respond confidently during a cardiac emergency. Organizers said the event is open to all community members, and no prior experience is required.
Officials noted that the training is intended for educational purposes only and will not provide CPR certification.
More information is available on the city website.
Meanwhile, the Alhambra Fire Department will also offer free hands-only CPR instruction on June 6 at the Alhambra Library from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
The event will focus on teaching participants what to do during the critical first moments of cardiac arrest. No registration is required, and community members can stop by to learn hands-only CPR in just minutes.
Both events aim to encourage residents to gain lifesaving confidence through free, accessible community training.
