The City of San Marino and Village Fitness are joining forces to offer free fitness classes every Tuesday at 9:00 am in Lacy Park as part of the city’s celebration of Parks & Recreation Month.

      By Melanie Hooks

Following the success of last July’s well-attended classes, the program returns this month with a new series of outdoor workouts. Each week will feature a different instructor and focus on a specific muscle group, with exercises centered on bodyweight training that requires no additional equipment. A limited number of exercise mats will be available, although participants are encouraged to bring their own.

The classes are designed for all fitness levels, from beginners to more experienced participants. Questions may be directed to Village Fitness San Marino at (626) 995-0209.

Classes are held at 9:00 am every Tuesday throughout July in the Forest Area of Lacy Park, 1485 Virginia Road, San Marino, CA 91108.

The City also offers a list of outdoor activities and ideas for staying active throughout Parks & Recreation Month, one for every day in July, on its website.
