Candlelight and Carols, in its 75th year, features sacred and secular music of the Christmas season at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church.
The annual “Pasadena Holiday Tradition for the Whole Family” offers two performances to choose from this year, 4:30 pm or 7:30 pm, with plenty of audience carol singing, adult and children’s choirs, handbells, and the Friends of Music Orchestra.
This event is accompanied by a professional orchestra, the church’s iconic Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ, the Van Etten Handbell Choir and several choirs including the distinguished Kirk Choir.
Highlights
Highlights of this year’s program include Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols, an excerpt from John Rutter’s Gloria, and Clement Clarke Moore’s classic poem “The Night Before Christmas” accompanied by the Friends of Music Orchestra.
