As students prepare to return to the classroom, Pasadena Public Library is highlighting a new statewide resource that provides free online tutoring and academic support for California K–12 students.

Homework CA, available through Tutor.com and funded by the California State Library, offers live, one-to-one tutoring 24 hours a day, seven days a week through July 31, 2027. Services are available in English and Spanish.
The online platform provides tutoring in core academic subjects, including English, math, science, social studies, reading, writing and world languages. Students can also receive support in career and technical education subjects such as communications, criminal justice and hospitality management.
In addition to live tutoring, Homework CA includes test preparation resources from The Princeton Review, featuring full-length ACT and SAT practice tests, AP exam support, detailed score reports, video lessons and practice drills. Students can also access college admissions planning tools, including activity lists, college research, application trackers and study skills coaching.
The program is supported in part by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
Students and families can access Homework CA through Tutor.com.
Pasadena Public Library will also resume its in-person Homework Help program on Monday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. at the Hastings and La Pintoresca branch libraries.
The Hastings Branch Library program serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade, while the La Pintoresca Branch Library program is available for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Homework help and reading practice will be offered Monday through Thursday, and no registration is required.
