Francis Pollara, a Pasadena City College alumnus and infrastructure professional, is seeking election to the Pasadena City College Board of Trustees in Trustee Area 1.

According to campaign materials, Pollara believes Pasadena City College should continue emphasizing financial oversight, transparency, and institutional stability. He has described the college as entering a period of stronger fiscal management and professional governance and says he hopes to build on those developments if elected.

Pollara is a graduate of Pasadena City College and has worked in infrastructure development and public-private partnerships. His professional background includes work related to economic development and workforce initiatives. He says those experiences would help him support programs that prepare students for careers and contribute to the local economy.

In campaign materials, Pollara also highlights his personal ties to the community. He is a Pasadena resident, father of two, and first-generation American who credits Pasadena City College with helping shape his educational and professional path.

The Trustee Area 1 race will give voters an opportunity to weigh differing perspectives on the future direction of Pasadena City College, including issues related to governance, fiscal oversight, and student success.

Another candidate in the race is Geoffrey Baum, who announced his candidacy for the Trustee Area 1 seat on June 9.

The election for the Pasadena City College Board of Trustees will take place in November 2026.
