WSGV FIRST LEGO League
The West San Gabriel Valley (WSGV) FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Challenge Teams delivered an outstanding performance at Cedarlane Academy’s Qualifying Tournament in Hacienda Heights. All four WSGV teams have advanced to the Regional Tournament in La Cañada on December 6.

After more than three months of preparation, the teams showcased the FLL Core Values of Teamwork, Innovation, Impact, Discovery, Inclusion, and Fun throughout the competition.
The Trenchales earned the prestigious Champion’s Award for best all-around performance. The team exemplified the FLL spirit, combining strong Core Values with excellence and innovation in Robot Performance, Robot Design, and the Innovation Project.
The Gems & Junk Diggers received the Innovation Project Award, recognized for their creative, well-researched solution and outstanding communication. Their project stood out for its use of diverse resources and community engagement.
The Underground Explorers were honored with the Breakthrough Award for demonstrating remarkable progress in confidence and capability across key areas of the FLL Challenge.
The Artifact Miners, the newest addition to the WSGV FLL family, impressed with one of the highest Robot Game scores of the tournament: 320 points.
WSGV extends heartfelt congratulations to all four teams for their achievements and looks forward to cheering them on at the upcoming Regionals in La Cañada.
