Forest Lawn has canceled the Monday, May 25, 2026, Memorial Day event in Cypress due to the ongoing emergency conditions and uncertainty in Garden Grove and the surrounding communities.
Forest Lawn’s Cathedral City, Covina Hills, Glendale, Hollywood Hills, and Long Beach events will proceed as planned.
Forest Lawn will honor fallen veterans with free Memorial Day remembrances at each of its six Southern California locations: Cathedral City, Covina Hills, Cypress, Glendale, Hollywood Hills, and Long Beach.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, the family-friendly, parkwide remembrances will bring generations together to pay tribute to the lives and valor of veterans of the United States Armed Forces with patriotic music, wreath layings, presentations and retirings of the flag, keynote addresses, presidential proclamations, invocations, giveaways, coffee, and sweet treats. All events will include American Sign Language interpreters.
The Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills commemoration is the featured event this year. The family-friendly remembrance features keynote speaker Brigadier General, Dr. David Smith; the resonate voice and presence of emcee Michael Ellington; an invocation and benediction by Monsignor Frank Hicks; a presidential proclamation by Police Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton; and music by the Los Angeles Concert Band.
Forest Lawn-Glendale’s celebration includes the Glendale Sunrise Rotary’s Field of Honor American flag dedication, taking place beginning Wednesday, May 20, and culminating with a stage event on Monday, May 25, at 11:00 am. Flags are available for a $50.00 sponsorship, with proceeds benefiting local veterans.
Since 1915, Forest Lawn’s rolling hills and panoramic views have set the stage for Memorial Day remembrances. “For over 100 years, Forest Lawn’s Memorial Day remembrances have provided a space for the community to come together in thoughtful reverence for the bravery and sacrifice of our fallen service members,” says Rodolfo Saenz, Forest Lawn’s Senior Vice President, Marketing. “We are proud to offer events to each of our Southern California communities, bringing people together to share in grief, to find support and strength in moving music, processions, and moments together.”
The Memorial Day remembrances at Forest Lawn take place on Monday, May 25, 2026, with the Cathedral City, Covina Hills, Cypress, Hollywood Hills, and Long Beach events beginning at 10:00 am, and the Glendale Field of Honor beginning at 11:00 am, with the Forest Lawn commemoration beginning at 1:00 pm.
Guests are encouraged to arrive one hour prior to the start time of Forest Lawn’s Memorial Day events to allow ample time to find parking and enjoy a walk through the grounds before the day’s events begin. Admission and parking are free for all events. Visit forestlawn.com for more information.
