A beloved Altadena neighborhood venue that survived last year’s fires is welcoming audiences once again.

The charming amphitheater built by Sue Dadd and James Griffith in their own front yard has long hosted intimate concerts by local musicians. Known as the Folly Bowl, it returns for its first 2026 summer concert on Saturday, July 25, featuring a lineup of local talent from Altadena Musicians.
Dadd and Griffith open their gates at 6:00 pm on concert nights, with music beginning around 7:00 pm. This season’s opening performance features artists from Altadena Musicians, an organization created by and for local musicians displaced or otherwise impacted by the 2025 Eaton Fire. Seats are limited, and reservations are encouraged for the venue at 1601 E. Loma Alta Drive in Altadena (see reservation link below).

The organization provides rehearsal space, music lessons, and—perhaps most importantly—a sense of community for the hundreds of musicians affected by the fire. It also coordinates efforts to replace instruments and equipment that were lost.
Its app, Instrumental Giving, matches requests for instruments and gear with donations from individuals who are able to contribute money or specific items. Requested donations range from vintage drums and guitars to glockenspiels, instrument cases, and sheet music. According to the organization’s website, more than 1,600 families have received assistance, with over 4,600 instruments donated by 1,300 donors. Hundreds of requests are still awaiting fulfillment
Event Details
On Saturday, July 25, the lineup features Kevin Sandbloom, Adron, and the Haypenny Pigs, with special guest Susan Kane.
Donations benefiting Altadena Musicians will be accepted at the door, with a suggested contribution of $20 per guest. Because seating is limited, RSVPs are encouraged and may be made online for a small additional processing fee.
Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or pillow for comfort, and picnics are welcome.
Additional concerts are scheduled for September 5 (Non Credo) and September 19 (North Star Festival).
