As Pasadena celebrates its 128th Birthday on Sunday, June 22nd, it is fitting to dedicate our Photo of the Week to the first baby born in the city of Pasadena.
In 1874, residents of Pasadena welcomed with joy the first baby born in the young settlement. She was named Helen.
The birth of Helen to the family of George Wentworth took place soon after the original settlers of the “Indiana Colony of California” arrived and predates even the naming of the city.
Residents of the colony collected funds to purchase a baby carriage for the newly born Helen.

That is really cool to have a picture like this
I don’t know why, but Dr. Evil comes to mind. Just my sense of humor, I guess. Happy 128th, Pasadena!
