It’s a sure sign of fall when the Christmas Tree Lane Association begins putting lights up in the trees along Santa Rosa Avenue in Altadena!
By Jerry Friedman
Saturday, September 17, was the first day of this season’s efforts and it started off a little slow, getting back into the swing of things took a bit of time. But as the morning gave way to the day, it got going pretty well. Sunday saw the group just short of their goal for the weekend of work. The lights are being put up from 8:00-12:00 each Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting, until the job is complete.
Lighting Ceremony and a Winter Festival
This year there will once again be a Lighting Ceremony and a Winter Festival on December 10. The pandemic kept CTLA from celebrating its 100th year with the traditional community party on the Lane… so the goal this year is to make up for lost opportunities to get together with friends, family and others from the community. There will be food trucks, booths of local artists and craft people as well as representatives of many community organizations and private and public schools. Come out, get some information, get some food, pick up some last-minute gifts, hear some speeches, support the Altadena library, see some local performers from the schools, and watch a few awards and acknowledgments made from the stage. Everything leads up to the lighting of the blocks and blocks of trees filled with miles and miles of Christmas lights…
CTLA is trying to make this the best and biggest event they have ever pulled off. You won’t want to miss this unique Altadena experience!
