Greg De Vinck, Pasadena Director of Public Works, has announced a full closure of Fair Oaks Avenue from California Boulevard to Bellefontaine Street starting at 1:00 am on Saturday, May 3, and ending at 1:00 am on Monday, May 5. The closure is necessary for the installation of a tower crane at 786 S. Fair Oaks Avenue.

The project, managed by Layton Construction, will restrict all vehicle traffic in the area for the duration of the weekend. Detours have been planned along Raymond Avenue, Glenarm Street, Bellefontaine Street, Pasadena Avenue, and California Boulevard to maintain traffic flow during the closure.
Through traffic will not be allowed, and all impacted properties — including the ongoing construction site at 590 S. Fair Oaks Avenue, Burger King, and Huntington Hospital — have been notified. Layton Construction has provided contact information for any questions or concerns from residents or businesses in the vicinity.
To alert drivers ahead of the closure, electronic message boards have been placed at five key locations. These signs will remain in place before and during the weekend, offering real-time detour information.
Officials urge motorists to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time while the crane installation is underway.

Thanks for the news about the Fair Oaks closing. I did not catch Why. What is the project goal?
