An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for the greater Pasadena area and San Gabriel Valley through 8:00 pm Friday, Aug. 28, as temperatures are expected to reach dangerous levels across the region.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for sunny and hot conditions, with a high near 106 degrees. TThe heat index could reach 109 degrees in some parts of Los Angeles County. Winds will be calm before becoming southwest at around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected Wednesday night, with temperatures falling to around 70 degrees. Thursday will remain mostly cloudy and hot, with a high near 105 degrees and a heat index as high as 108 degrees. Friday is forecast to be mostly sunny and hot, with another high near 106 degrees.
An Air Quality Alert is also in effect for the area, indicating concerns about air quality in Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley during the period of extreme heat.
Temperatures are forecast to ease over the weekend. Saturday is expected to be sunny and hot, with a high near 101 degrees, followed by a clear night and a low around 67 degrees. Sunday will be sunny, with a high near 92 degrees and a clear overnight low around 64 degrees.
