Active San Gabriel Valley (Active SGV) is inviting residents to join a unique public transit experience on Saturday, December 20, traveling from Monrovia to Santa Monica while learning about Los Angeles County’s interconnected watersheds.

The event combines education, outdoor activity, and community engagement for a full day of exploration.
The day begins at 8:45 am at the Monrovia Metro Station (1675 S Primrose Ave, Monrovia, CA 91016), with parking available nearby for $3. Participants will then ride Metro to Santa Monica, learning how local water systems impact the region along the way.
Once in Santa Monica, attendees will participate in a beach clean-up, enjoy lunch provided for registered guests, and have approximately an hour of free time to explore the coast. The return trip to Monrovia wraps up the adventure.
Active SGV encourages participants to bring snacks, comfortable walking shoes, festive attire, a jacket, a bag, phone and charger, and money for personal purchases. Metro tap cards and lunch are covered for those who RSVP.

This event is the first of three planned public transit adventures aimed at educating the public about LA County’s water systems. It is made possible by funding from the Water Foundation and the Safe, Clean Water Program (SCWP), a county initiative supporting local water conservation, pollution reduction, green infrastructure, habitat restoration, and community education.
