What is the difference between wine made organically and wine made from organic grapes?

Here’s the skinny. Use your judgement and know the facts.

      Organic Wine

      • Is made from organically grown grapes.
      • Does not have added sulfites.
      • Some sulfites may be present naturally.

Organic farming prohibits synthetic pesticides but allows the use of natural pesticides.

      Wine made from organic grapes

      • Made from ‘at least’ 70% organically grown grapes.
      • Sulphur is added to prolong shelf life.

Wine made from certified organically grown grapes should not to be confused with Organic Wine, and it is not considered organic.

      Warning

If you are into sustainable practices, you should be aware that organic wine-making allows for the practice of spraying of the vines!

      Conclusion

Organic farming should be an alternative choice over industrial products that rely on chemicals in their wine making.
