Soccer fever is set to take over the heart of Pasadena as the city prepares to host a high-energy, public watch party for the Mexico vs. Czech Republic World Cup match on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.

The celebration begins at 4:30 pm, with kickoff scheduled for 6:00 pm, transforming the Pasadena Civic Auditorium Plaza, 300 E. Green St., into a vibrant fan zone filled with fútbol spirit.
The free community event, presented in partnership with the Pasadena Center Operating Company (PCOC) and funded by Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor Kathryn Barger, promises an unforgettable evening of international competition, community pride, and family-friendly fun.
A Plaza Transformed Into a Fan Festival
Attendees can expect a festival atmosphere as the plaza and surrounding streets become a lively gathering space featuring:
- Food trucks serving crowd-pleasing favorites
- Family-friendly activities and soccer-themed games
- A merchandise customization station
- Live music and entertainment
- A beer garden with beverages available for purchase
Fans are encouraged to wear their team colors, whether they are cheering for El Tri, Czechia, or another World Cup contender.
Limited seating will be available, and guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs. The event area, including sidewalks and pedestrian crossings, will be fully accessible for attendees using wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
Easy Transit Access
Pasadena Transit Routes 10, 20, 40, and 51 will offer extended service after 8 p.m., making it easier for fans to travel home following the match. Metro riders can take the A Line to either Memorial Park or Del Mar stations, both located about a 10-minute walk from the event.
Event Guidelines
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone:
- Only service animals trained to assist individuals with disabilities are permitted.
- Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed.
- For accessibility accommodations or questions, attendees may call (626) 744-7311 or email CSC@cityofpasadena.net. A minimum of 72 hours’ notice is recommended.
City Leaders Celebrate Pasadena’s World Cup Spirit
Mayor Victor Gordo expressed excitement about bringing the community together once again.
“Soccer has a unique way of bringing people together across cultures, languages, and backgrounds,” Gordo said. “We look forward to another memorable evening of community, camaraderie, and world-class fútbol in our city.”
PCOC Chief Executive Officer Michael Ross echoed that enthusiasm, citing the overwhelming success of the organization’s first World Cup watch party and its eagerness to build on that momentum.
Supervisor Kathryn Barger added that the event reflects “the unifying power of soccer” and the joy of bringing neighbors and visitors together.
