Join neighborhood resident and environmental planner Tom Priestley for a walking tour that explores the history of the Grace Hill neighborhood.
This neighborhood lies just west of Fair Oaks Avenue at Pasadena’s southern edge and is built on a small hill that was the site of a grand estate from 1891 until it was sold and subdivided in the 1920’s. The neighborhood that resulted from the subdivision has a distinctive physical character that sets it apart from other areas of Pasadena. Those on the walk will learn about the neighborhood’s evolution over time and will see vestiges of the area’s past that remain.
This tour will cover a distance of about two miles and will take approximately an hour and a half. The walk will include stairs and some moderately steep inclines. There are no public restrooms on the route or in the nearby area. Tour #1 and Tour #2 are the same.
Please Register/RSVP in advance for the meeting location details. Register here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/walking-tour-of-the-grace-hill-neighborhood-2-tickets-411687557567
We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, sunblock, a hat, and bring water.
