There’s Magic in the Air – for Children Young & Old poster
The Towne Singers present “There’s Magic in the Air – for Children Young & Old!”, their 2017 Holiday Concert featuring holiday standards for the young and young at heart, many with new choral arrangements.
Imagine the nostalgia and beauty of 90 voices performing ‘songs of childhood’ bringing us the warmth and memories of the holidays including The Little Drummer Boy, I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, O Nata Lux, Ma’oz Tzur, Christmas Time is Here, A La Nanita Lullaby, Christmas Toys on Parade, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, Polar Express Medley, and more finishing with the Hallelujah Chorus spotlighted by the church’s majestic organ. An orchestral ensemble along with dance performances will accompany the singers to highlight the musical repertoire along with a visit from Santa Claus and a holiday Hippopotamus. This is a great “Holiday” gift.
Two of their numbers are spotlighted by the historic First United Methodist Church organ of 1924, built by the E.M. Skinner Organ Company of Boston. In 1974 the organ was rebuilt to increase its versatility and brilliance and it will bring a magical majestic tone to the numbers.
Conducted by Lance Merrill accompanied by a small orchestral ensemble.

The 90+ member Towne Singers is a non-auditioned community chorus based in La Cañada, California. Since being founded in 1987 by Phyllis Winnaman, the chorus has grown to become a well-known source of entertainment for Southern CA.
