After a pause for summer, the Pasadena Folk Music Society concert series will once again fill Knox Presbyterian Church with music on October 3rd.
Singer-songwriter Sarah McQuaid’s lush, velvety voice combines with her engaging personality and “brilliant musicianship” (fRoots) on acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards and (occasionally) drum to create a truly immersive experience. Her live performances are full of warmth, wit, and intimacy, and have earned her loyal followings on both sides of the Atlantic.
In April 2017, Sarah was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ards International Guitar Festival. Presenting the award, Ernie McMillen of Avalon Guitars said, “It is rare in the guitar world to find a player who displays genius without arrogance, and who shares their hard-won skill and knowledge so selflessly. I get to see many specialist guitarists up close, and many over-perform. It’s honey for the soul to witness Sarah McQuaid perform.”
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, 225 S. Hill Ave. in Pasadena. Advance tickets are $33.85 for adults and $12.51 for Caltech students and youth.
Tickets will be available at the door the night of the concert, cash or check only.
The event is organized by volunteers of the Pasadena Folk Music Society, which has been presenting fine music at affordable prices for four decades. For more information, see https://pasadenafolkmusicsociety.org/events.
